Fed: Howard says no new terror threat to Australia
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD says Australia faces no new specific terrorist threats suchas those encountered by the UK.
Mr HOWARD says the terrorist threats against Britain and the United States are specificand the alerts are very understandable.
However he has told Sydney radio that Australia faces no such specific threat althoughhe can understand general public anxiety.
Hundreds of troops have been pulled into London's Heathrow airport this week in whata police source says was partly a precaution against a possible al-Qaeda rocket attackon a plane.
Police also evacuated one of Britain's busiest train stations - London's Kings Cross- after a suspicious vehicle was found.
