NSW: Man kills de facto in frenzied psychotic moment, court told
A Sydney court has been told a man who bludgeoned his defacto wife to death with a
hammer was suffering from schizophrenia at the time and didn't remember the attack.
Twenty-seven-year-old SUNIL DHIRAJ HEMRAJ, a former stockbroker, has pleaded not guilty
to murder, but guilty to the manslaughter of MICHELLE DANIELETTO, 22, at their Mortdale
unit, in Sydney's south, in October 1996.
HEMRAJ's defence told a jury it will have to decide whether HEMRAJ was suffering from
an abnormality of the mind at the time of the attack.
