NSW: Man breaches security at RAAF base, air force says

The RAAF says a man using fake identification and wearing an air force uniform has
breached security at its Richmond air base, north-west of Sydney.

The man is said to have entered Richmond base at around 9 am (AEST) Friday.

An RAAF spokesman says the intruder tried to buy an air force t-shirt before being
caught and handed over to New South Wales Police.

The spokesman says the man managed to get past private security guards at the gates
to the base, but was detained by air force security officers once he was inside.

The spokesman says there is concern the man was using a fake RAF (RAF) ID and was able
to obtain RAAF identification.
