Keeping their campaign promises, the three most recently electedKanawha County school board members did not charge mileage to andfrom the meetings they are paid $160 to attend.
In fact, only board member Jim Crawford was reimbursed for travelduring the last fiscal year that ended Monday.
The first-term member who plans to seek re-election next yearcollected $335 to drive from his St. Albans home to the meetings onElizabeth Street in Charleston.
He said he plans to continue the practice.
"It's legal," he said. "I don't see what the fuss is about. I'mentitled to it."
